another side of Bambi's mom

Cranbrook B.C. has a problem with exceedingly tame mule deer. Here's what happens when a doe senses Rover (actually the dog's name is Star) may have less than pure motives. (Funny how she didn't go after River the cat.)

Cranbrook Deer

The deer in Cranbrook have even started going after people. There's something wrong with this picture...

My Goodness,
What an eyeopener seeing the "Bambi's mom" video and a few others along the same vein. Really quite disturbing, but is man to blame for encroaching on their territory?

I sure was shocked at this mother's ferocity!

As for your question "is man to blame for encroaching on their territory?" I guess we could ask, is there any one of us who isn't living on land that could have been an animal's home at one time (at least not if one goes back far enough)? Do we want bears, cougars and moose roaming our streets? I don't think so.

As much as possible we coexist peacefully. But when there is a clash, I believe in the order established by God in Genesis 1:28 where, speaking to Adam and Eve, He said: "...have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

As for the Cranbrook area, there is lots of room for this wildlife out of town.
